Tariq brings Abby to the studio to lay down some vocals, which scores points for him, but Kaldrick is worried Abby might know too much and threatens her to ensure her silence. Meanwhile, Nick still isn't having any luck on stage, finally begins to see his love life heat up. Finally, when Alicia's sexy acting debut goes over better than expected, she becomes hopeful that it may open new doors for her dancing career. TALENT DOESN'T ALWAYS GET YOU THE GIG - Tariq and Kal take a break from L.A. to relax and develop a new layer to their friendship. Raquel, who is dreading her birthday, looks to Gary (guest star Rob Stewart) and Connor to make her feel better. Meanwhile, feeling lost and discouraged, Abby and Nick spend the day together discovering the city and each other. Connor, who should be enjoying his success, is struggling with emotional challenges instead. JUST HOW FAR DOWN IS ROCK BOTTOM? - After being told that her Hollywood stock has plummeted, Raquel is dumped by her agency. Nick, who's failing wildly on the comedy circuit, draws on a bizarre one-night-stand to finally get a laugh. Things are looking up for Tariq when he lays down a killer track, but when it's quickly shot down, Tariq wonders if Kaldrick might have it out for him. Meanwhile, Connor should be on top of the world, but he finds himself feeling sad and lonely in a big empty house, and Alicia receives a proposition that could boost her career. Finally, Abby, who has yet to receive her big break, finds herself dangerously close to having to give up her dreams and leave LA. CITY OF DREAMS - A struggling Abby is given the chance to make some big cash as long as she's willing to "play the part." Raquel decides she's not going to wait by the phone any longer and starts pushing to get a movie made where she can play the lead. Alicia's not having any luck with her dancing auditions so she takes a different approach by attending a party with a D-list actor (guest star Aaron Abrams "Rookie Blue"). Meanwhile, after presenting an impressive demo at the studio, Tariq is offered the chance to produce a track with the infamous rapper Kaldrick King.
